1. Profanity

Light profanity is allowed only in thread content, they are not permitted in any thread title. HOWEVER, excessive or vulgar profanities, or profanity directed at others in an insulting manner will not be tolerated. The occasional swear should not be a problem, as the swear filter is designed to mask it. Occasional being the keyword here. Making remarks that could be construed as Racist, Homophobic or regarding animal cruelty are to be avoided. Attempting to bypass the swear filter by creative use of other characters is not permitted and may result in the thread or post being removed and a warning given to the offender. Too many warnings will result in an account ban.

2. Harassment

Harassing, flaming and threatening other users WILL NOT be tolerated. You need to remember that there are real people behind these screen names, real people with real feelings. This is not to be taken lightly. Moderators / Administrators reserve the right to remove any posts if they find them inappropriate in any way. Persistant offenders will be gagged (globaly ignored), then subject to a temporary / permanent ban.

3. Explicit Material

Posting or even linking to sexually explicit remarks or any type of pornographic images is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. This is a banning offence and will not be tolerated for a second. Offenders will be dealt in an appropriate manner. The only exception is the Over 18s Section/Community central, any thread, post of link which may have adult material, must only be posted in the Over18 forum (to be arranged in the near future). This forum will be password protected, and access must be obtained via pm to the current Over18 moderator - detailed in the forum description. Once access is granted a seperate password will be issued. This is private and not to be disclosed to anyone else. Read them and abide by them. As signatures, avatars, profile pics etc are viewable in all parts of the forum, any adult content found or reported in these sections will be removed and the offending member reprimanded accordingly.

4. Spamming

Spamming/Trolling: DO NOT post off topic nonsense simply to raise your post count, which is a good way to become disliked. Always respect members at all times, do not go into a persons topic purely for the purposes of causing trouble. Do not post excessively large images for no reason or without warning. Please try to stay on topic, it is understandable that sometimes topics wonder off, try not to let it happen often.

5. Private Messaging

Private messages are private, hence the name. Please respect the privacy of other members, do not post a PM in public without their permission. There is however one exception. You have the right to report a PM to a welsh carp forum Administrator if you feel you are being harassed by another member via the Private Messaging system.

6. Hacking
Attempts to hack the forums or access features you normally are not allowed to, will result in an IP ban. If you discover any problems with the board that may be abused please report them immediately to a member of staff.

7. "FAO" Posting

NO "For the Attention Of: The use of email or private messaging is preferable. If your post / thread is either moved, locked or deleted, please respect that decision and refrain from causing further argument or upset by publicly debating it.

8. Images

When posting photographs / images of fish, wherever from, please make sure you blank out any advertising logo's or unappropriate material that could be deemed offensive. You can do this by using a multitude of image editing software. the maximum size limit for normal pictures is 800x600, profile pictures is 640x480, signatures is 400x75 and avatars is 110x84. Any picture deemed as possibly rude or offensive must not be used for signatures or avatars and must only be viewable in the Over 18 section. Any violation to this rule will result in the offending photograph / image being removed and a warning sent to the offender. Three warnings and the right to use Avatars or Signatures will be removed for the offender. Continuation will result in a ban.

9. Signatures

A signature may contain one or more images but they must fit within a box and be a reasonable size If no images are used then up to 4 consecutive lines of normal (size3) or smaller text is permitted. Do not pad out your text lines with blanks lines. A line of text is defined as having a maximum length of 400 pixels. If you want to turn the signature off in the future, you can come back and edit your post. If you have specified a signature in your profile, the box will be automatically ticked for you. Signatures breaking these rules will be replaced by a warning image by an automated checker. If this rule is broken 3 times, your ability for signatures will be removed. Under no circumstances must any material displayed contain profane, lewd or adult content. Any signatures found or reported breaking these rules will be replaced with a warning image.

10. Avatars

Avatars are viewable by everyone, so any user Avatar must be free from any lewd or profanic material. The maximum size permitted for Avatars is a 100x100 pixel frame with a file size of no more than 10kb. Lightly animated GIF files are allowed, but static JPG files are preferred. Avatars breaking these rules will be replaced by a warning image by an automated checker. If this rule is broken 3 times, your ability for avatars will be removed. Under no circumstances must any material displayed contain profane, lewd or adult content. Any avatars found or reported breaking these rules will be replaced with a warning image. where a user has trouble uploading an avatar, they can approach a member of staff who will upload it for them.

11. Respect

You are kindly asked to respect the Moderators and Administrators of welsh carp forum and their decisions at all times.

12. Advertising rules

Business advertising is not allowed unless by prior arrangement by WCF staff. we have sections on each forum for personal adverts and advertising as such Any post that is an advert, has not been placed in the correct part of the forum will be removed and a warning may be issued at the discretion of the moderators.

Welsh carp forum has a classified ads section for personal advertising. ALL advertising must be done either there or on another web site and link through a signature.


What IS an advert.

1. Any post by a trader/business or a person representing a trader/business that advertises an item as being for sale, trade, wanted, free ( to be given away ).

2. Any post that advertises or promotes a website in any forum other than the website links section. Within the website forum, any website that is deemed to be in competition with cymfishing/welsh carp forum and as such spams the forum to gain members or financial gain will be removed immediately.

3. Any message that is posted in more than three threads. This is classed as spamming and will be treated in the same manner as an advert.

4. Any image that is posted which includes logos, watermarks, web site promotion or business promotion. This includes photographs of logo's or company products intended to gain publicity for your business unless posted in the appropriate section of the forum.

5. Any post made to advertise a product/venue or service must be done in an appropriate manner and most important must be appropriate for viewing by a minor. any picture of an adult nature must be posted to personal galleries only and not advertised on the home page.


In general, an advert is where a post is made with the intention of transferring ownership of a service or item to somebody else, or a post made with the intention of increasing trade for your business.


What is NOT an advert.

1. Your web site may be mentioned in your signature. You may NOT include items, prices, or any other text or images that would break any of the rules above in your signature. If the web site is deemed by the moderators to be breaking any of the above rules, you will be asked to remove the address from your signature, failing that it will be removed for you.

2. Posting links to your own websites in thread is allowed as long as the document linked to is on topic with the thread. For example, if a thread is about information regarding a venue or a certain bait etc and you have a web page with the relevant information, you may post a link to that page. You may NOT post links to any pages unrelated to the topic or any pages that contain advertising of any kind.
